I will be teaching the 715pm Vinyasa class at Cornerstone Yoga Collective next Tuesday, June 25th. Get ready for some fresh sequencing that will help shake you out of your movement rut. There will be some fast paste flows and some slow moments to keep you on your toes. I hope you will join me as we all work on our flexibility, stability and most importantly, mindfulness.
I will be subbing three classes this week at Cornerstone Yoga Collective:
Wednesday Feb 7 – 545 pm Yin (Tonight)
Thursday Feb 8 – 545 pm Beginner
Sunday Feb 11 – 7 pm Yin
I am excited to be teaching the evening crowd 🙂
I will be teaching at the 7:15pm Vinyasa Class at Cornerstone Yoga Collective tonight. I am looking forward to leading everyone who joins me through a fun, thoughtful strong flow. The morning classes I normally teach are only 60 minutes long, so I am looking forward to having the extra 15 minutes to play around with some more complicated shapes.
If you do decide to join me on your mat tonight, get ready for some lower body work as that is where my practice has been taking me lately, as I try my best to prepare my body for the arrival of my baby. You can count on a couple variations of Malasna (Yogi Squat) making an appearance, it has been one of my favorite and most empowering asanas recently, partially because it allows lots of room for my continuously growing belly. Also, ever since I have started engaging the proper muscles while holding malasana I have gained so much more strength in the position, and feel extremely supported . Personally, I have noticed that when I feel strong/supported in a certain pose or my body as a whole, I also feel strong mentally. It always fascinates me how what I learn and discover about myself and practice while I am on my mat usually translates into my life off of the mat, without me even realizing it. I have been consistently staying active and building more strength throughout my second trimester and I really think it is helping me better navigate my pregnancy without feeling overwhelmed.
Due to the fact that Trent injured himself again, I have been subbing at Cornerstone Yoga Community more often lately. Tonight I will be teaching the Beginner class from 545-645. I will also be teaching this class on Dec 28th and Jan 4th. The class tonight will incorporate some balancing poses, since they are my favourite, they also help to build strength and stability that supports the other aspects of our practice.
on another note….
This time of year it is easy to make excuses that prevent you from making it to your mat, but it’s the weeks that lead up to wonderful yet stressful holidays when it the most important to find some down time for yourself. Yoga is a safe space to embrace that down time as you work on your breath and movement surrounded by lovely individuals who are probably feeling just as over whelmed with all the holiday preparations as you are. I hope to see some of you there tonight. 🙂
Now that I am only teaching 2 classes a week I haven’t felt the need to update my website weekly. Since I am subbing this week, I thought I would let everyone who reads these posts know that I am teaching the 5:45 beginner class tomorrow at Cornerstone Yoga Collective. I am excited to teach a new crowd that may not be familiar with me. I will most likely squeeze some kneeling chaturangas into the mix so get ready to feel your arms and your core. 🙂
Soul Space has come out with their new fall schedule, and it’s starting today. Some of my classes have therefore changed.
Tuesday’s 7pm-815pm Vinyasa is now 715pm-815pm Connection to Core Vinyasa
and I am no longer teaching the Thursday 530pm Beginner class.
I will be covering the 5:45 Vinyasa Flow class tonight at Blacksmith Yoga Community 🙂
